Complete Toyota FJ Cruiser CB Radio System

This is a complete CB Radio system thought out and put together by BIGBILL25 of [FJCRUISERFORUMS.com]. BIGBILL25's idea, our products, your solution. For detailed instructions and images for this installation please check BIGBILL25's post [here].

Features

  • 40 Channel CB Radio w/ NOAA Weather! The most compact CB radio solution for new vehicles with no room! The entire CB fits in the palm of your hand, yet still offers the performance and full features of a standard mobile CB. Ideal for RV'ers wanting a CB but not wanting the bulk of a regular mobile. Very popular CB for Jeep and Off-roaders, because the radio is in the microphone there is very little getting in the way. New pickups also benefit from the remote design of the 75WXST. If you have a newer pickup you'll know that the center console is almost always filled with things which leaves little to no room for a CB. This is the solution! Simply mount the small 2 inch junction box under the dash, connect the power to the fuse panel and plug the radio in. Or if you're looking for a convenient solution add a cigarette plug to the power cord for easy plug-n-play ability.
  • The Bandi Mount Bandi CB antenna mounting bracket for all 2007+ FJ Cuisers. This mounting bracket requires no drilling and is a completely bolt-on unit.
  • Firestik Firefly Flexible Antenna The "FL" Series antennas are the performance leader of lightweight top-loaded CB antennas. Each is approximately 40% lighter than the equivalent length Firestik II antenna. From the perspective of mount stress, the lighter materials and reduced wind drag of the "FL" antennas reduces stress by more than 60%. A 4-foot FireFly will easily perform on a mount that is designed for antennas 3-foot or less. At the top of every "FL" antenna you will find our patented tunable-tip. Besides making tuning a snap, the design broadens the antennas bandwidth and increases its power handling capabilities.
  • 18 Foot Coax Cable with Terminator Stud and Removable PL-259 Connector Introducing a low profile surface mounted coax cable complete with a removable PL-259 connector. Many CB antenna installations are mounted in such a way that using a standard PL259 connector on the antenna side is simply not possible. For instance Pickup hood/fender mounts that hang over the fender do not work with a PL259 connector.
  • Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Spring Every antenna should have a spring. Springs protect the antenna, mount and vehicle. This spring is made from long lasting, top grade electro-polished stainless steel. The upper and lower inserts are made of chrome-plated machine brass and have standard 3/8"-24 threads to fit all Firestik antennas, mounts and accessories. This heavy duty model may be used with antennas up to 60". Physically, each spring is about 3.0" (76mm) tall with a diameter of 0.800" (20mm).
  • Firestik K4R FireRing Stud Mount The importance of the stud mount cannot be over stressed! The antenna stud mount acts as a bridge between the antenna and the coaxial feedline. Accordingly, it needs to allow for efficient transfer of your transmitted and received signals to and from the transceiver. If the stud mount doesn't perform that task efficiently you end up with unneeded loss. And if that isn't enough, the stud mount must be strong enough to withstand all of the stress placed upon it from an antenna that is subject to severe wind load and vibration.

This is a great setup for a while. Its really the only option for the fj so what else can you do. I have had mine for about 2 years the mount has rusted out once. I took the grinder to it and repainted it now its great. The cable splits eventually so again not entirely surprising given its mount location. Walcott is great.

This is a great set up and complete kit. My order arrived quickly and I installed it on my FJ in about 3 hours. The Bandi mount bolts on easily. I recommend that you go to fjcruiserforums.com and review some of the other users set ups and instructions before you begin. Bandi has some excellent advice and pictures to help you along. Tuning the Firefly antenna is a breeze and only took about 15 minutes total. I called Walcott with a few questions and they were very helpful. I highly recommend Walcott and this package for your FJ.

I was recommended that I buy the BIGBILLCOMBO (sans the CB, which I already had) from your site. You came highly rated by FJCruiserForums.com memebrs (of which, I am one). I got my order yesterday (after a delay on Walcott\'s part) and promptly started assembling things. I found the 2\' Wilson antenna you shipped me had a bad thread job on it and won\'t seat correctly in the mount. I called today and asked if you would replace it, to which your rep said, \"Yep, but you have to pay for shipping back to us.\" I felt ripped. Did you guys even bother to check the part before it left? If not, then why should I have to shoulder the burden of the defective part you shippe=d me?!?!? I don\'t think that\'s taking care of your (new) customer. I\'ll certainly tell everyone on FJCruiserForums.com about this mishap and your lack of acceptable remedy. >>>WalcottCB.com Response, Jason D.<<< Unfortunately from time to time, product defects do occur. The solution for a defect is simple, get the product back to us and we\'ll replace it for a new one or give you your money back. Remember, we do not manufacture any of the products we sell, nor do we take part in the manufacturers quality control process, it is the job of the manufacturer to ensure their products are defect free. Keep in mind, if you send the item back to us we will meet you half way and we will pay to send the item back to you, free of charge.

This is the perfect setup for the FJ cruiser. I have no complaints but a few comments based on what I've read here and things to watch out for. First, the speaker on the hand unit seems fine to me, I purchased the extra speaker but it was completely unnecessary. It gets plenty loud enough. Next, make sure you do NOT over tighten the firering to the bandi mount. If you're having grounding problems, make sure you removed enough paint from the mount where the firering makes contact and the spot where the nut touches the truck. If you overtighten the firering you WILL ruin it and your SWRs will never be right. Great setup, thanks "bigbill" and bandi for putting this together and making it so incredibly easy.

This is the perfect set up for the FJ Cruiser. The Bandi Mount is fits into the hinge like Toyota designed the space for a mount. Everything arrived as ordered and installed in a couple hours. Checked SWR and got 1.2-1.4 readings throughout all channels. thanks for putting this package together...

This is a perfect CB kit for your FJ Cruiser. We have made this the standard CB setup for the 702FJCrew.net FJ Cruiser Club in Las Vegas. The only recommendation I have is that you get an external speaker and mount it behind the guages on the dash. The speaker in the mic is somewhat limited and the external speaker will drastically improve the audio. (WCB) We would suggest the CB980 speaker. Small in size, good sound.

I am very impressed with this system for my FJ Cruiser!! I bought all of the pieces about a month ago and installed it. I enjoy having the weather channel on long cross country drives. The sound and reception is clear.
