Review: The 979 is a GREAT!!!! radio iI consistantly talk 12-15 miles , my best being 17.5 . I live in the midwest in a somewhat hilly area, this radio is perfect for my small pick up and schould work well in yours too.

Review: Good radio gets out clear when i ran my wilson 5000 mag mount running i was getting out 8-10 miles very good radio i love the faceplate lighting very good idea only wish they could bring that feature over to the Galaxy CD959

Review: This Galaxy DX979 AM/SSB is great the sound is understandable and clear I have a Cobra Base Station (142 GTL) and it is not as clear as the Galaxy Excellent Radio/Purchase.
