Finally performance and durability meet. The standard Cobra high quality construction matched with two 50w final transistors make this a radio not to overlook. Carrying on with the popular NightWatch faceplate illumination and new features such as the large S/RF meter, Roger Beep, Frequency Counter, and exceptional output power bundled together for a low price may just make this radio the Cobra 29 of the 10-meter world.

As with most 10-meter radios used in mobile applications a good noise cancelling microphone like the Telex RoadKing 56 or Astatic 636L will compliment the heavy audio output of this booming radio.

Please bear in mind, when installing the Cobra 200GTLDX it is recommended to connect to a 20+ amp power source. Generally this requires the power leads get installed directly to the battery. Some trucks such as the FreightLiner Century Class offer a sufficient power connection in the Fuse Block area. You would want to avoid using the factory wiring or dash mounted binding posts as this radio will draw more current than can be supported.

Yeah I bought the Cobra 200GTLDX and the first week I had one I had problems with it. Anyway walcott fixed the problem and now it works fine but not as well as it should. The radio does about 115 wattts on sideband and 30 to 35 watts on AM.My Galaxy 88HLDX sounds louder and has a better range than the Cobra 200GTLDX,and my Galaxy 88HLDX does about 30-32 watts. So the Cobra 200GTLDX does not impress me what so ever! Stick with a Connex or Galaxy radio at lease they perform up to the standards that they claim to do!

well i have bought one of these and the 150 and i enjoyed working on them as they were very simple to modify and tune all but one thing :; i noticed on either unit that when checking the audio they both seemed to fall on there face unless you pretty much hollered into it or whistled into it like there is a MOD LIMITER (an old cobra shut the FCC up trick lol) and if i could find it or which oen to remove i would swear that there wasnt much out there going to stomp either of these units nice job done by cobra for sure on these units and the price is pretty unreal especially knowing the 148F was a fortune when it came out lol

Great features, the echo is very clear and the control pots feel very high quality. It would be nice to have a talkback feature, but everything else is PERFECT! Good job cobra.
