4 ft. (1.21 M) Broadband VHF 3dB Marine Antenna Center-fed ½-wave coaxial sleeve.
The 396-1-AIS has been specially designed to meet the broader bandwidth requirements of all popular AIS transceivers. Commercial-grade construction with a mast mounting sleeve.
Outstanding, basic 3dB antenna designed to reduce signal fading in rough seas. This is probably the most widely used antenna on Coast Guard vessels. Included with antenna is the 4 way ratchet mount to complete the installation.

Installation Instructions:

Choose a mounting location that is as high as possible, as free as possible from obstructions, and as far as possible away from other antennas and strong sources of RF.

1. Mount the antenna to your mast using the supplied 1¼” U-bolts, clamps, lockwashers, washers, and hex nuts, as illustrated in the diagram. The Style 396-1-AIS can be strapped to a larger mast if steel banding (not supplied) is used.

2. Connect the antenna to your your AIS-enabled equipment with 50-ohm low-loss coax cable with PL-259 connectors on each end (each sold separately). Route the cable as far as possible from other electrical equipment and cables.
